Super interesting question. I recently read Sapiens, by Yuval Noah Harari who discusses this a little. He thinks that humans are currently evolving as we speak, and faster than ever as technology is progressing so quickly. Does the fact that some humans now have implants (like pacemakers or robotic arms) mean that they are no longer human…?

I was thinking that we might eventually lose the appendix, because I had heard it was not much use to us now our diets had changed, but I then looked it up & have found that it might have a use in immune response (fighting disease and infection) in the fetus and younger people…so now I don’t know what to say.

I guess we’re always continually evolving – evolution doesn’t stop, it’s just really slow!
