• Question: I think you are really inspiring and you do amazing things. Would you have any advice for people who might want a possible carer in science and to do what you do ?

Thank you so much! I’m so pleased my profile has inspired you. I had no science role models when I was younger and I was always so confused about my career.

I’d say really try and get as much experience as you can. Even if its just shadowing someone at work for a day, or visiting a university or apprenticeship open day to get an idea of what courses are on offer. If you’re interested in science communication, look at what things you can volunteer with. Is there a local STEM group you can help with? Do you have a radio station at school or in the community that you could start a show on? Is there a school newspaper you could write for? Is there a science museum exhibition/event you could visit or volunteer for? Or even just have a look on Instagram and Twitter for #WomenInSTEM, #sciart and #scicomm to get ideas and inspiration.

And remember – always do/study what you enjoy and work hard, and your career will fall into place 🙂
