• Question: how many stars do we know about ???

      Because of the new space telescope called Gaia we now know about most of the stars in the Milky Way – about 300 billion! We know about stars in other galaxies too, until the galaxies become too far away to see the individual stars. So we probably know about trillions of stars in our local universe. 🙂

      This is one of my favourite astronomy pictures which was made by Gaia – every dot in the picture is a star!
