There’s a range. I know some people that took about 7 years to get a PhD (4 year MSc + 3 year PhD). It’s taken me a bit longer, around 10 years! (4 year BSc + 2 year MSc + 3.5 year Phd). I took my time because I spent so much time studying abroad, but for me it was worth it. 🙂
