At the moment I don’t do much hands-on work with the cells, I get help from the biologists I work with. They have told me in the past that for some types of eukaryotic cell, such as stem cells, it can be quite hard to keep them growing happily, whereas prokaryotic cells like bacteria grow so fast, it can be a lot quicker to do the experiments.
