Bone might look a bit boring/one material, but it’s actually a really complicated living organ. Bone is made up of living cells and parts containing lots of minerals. Special cells called osteoblasts work in teams to take in calcium along with other elements, and make a mineral called hydroxyapatite. It’s this calcium-containing mineral that helps to strengthen our bones.
