I spent 4 years at university studying physics, then 4 years studying for my PhD (where you do experiments on one particular topic, and afterwards you can call yourself a doctor of science), then a few years working at one university, and then a few years working at another, so about 12-13 years.

3 years at Manchester Uni studying Neuroscience (science about the brain), then I moved straight into science communication (scicomm as it is colloquially known!) by doing this course at Imperial College London: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/pg/science-communication/science-communication/

I graduated from my Master’s course in 2017 and I’ve been working in scicomm ever since!
